Abamec LV Pour-On for Cattle

Vetsense Abamec LV Pour-On for Cattle is a double-strength macrocyclic lactone (ML) drench. It manages internal and external parasites in beef and dairy cattle.

Because it has a zero-day milk withholding period, it is ideal for lactating dairy herds. The product controls roundworms, lungworms, and lice with a simple backline application. This low-volume formula reduces handling time. Consequently, it provides a practical solution for professional producers.

Pack Sizes: 1L, 2L, 2.5L, 5L and 10L.

Abamec LV Pour-On for Cattle ABAMEC LV Vetsense

Description

Abamec LV Pour-On for Cattle is a high-strength parasiticidal solution. It controls internal and external parasites in beef and dairy cattle. The formula contains the Active Constituent: 10 g/L Abamectin. This loading is double the strength of standard pour-on’s. Consequently, producers use a lower dose volume per animal.

This treatment targets abamectin-sensitive parasites. Specifically, it kills adult and immature gastrointestinal roundworms. It also manages lungworms, sucking lice, and biting lice. Additionally, it serves as an aid in controlling Cattle tick (Boophilus microplus).

Abamectin Sensitive Parasite Control and Situation:

This pour-on treatment is specifically designed for cattle producers requiring a low-volume dose rate of 1 mL per 20 kg of body weight. It provides effective control against adult and immature stages of major gastrointestinal roundworms, including inhibited stages of Small brown stomach worm (Ostertagia ostertagi). Additionally, it serves as an aid in the control of Cattle tick (Boophilus microplus) and effectively manages multiple species of sucking and biting lice.

How does Abamec LV Pour-On for Cattle work?

Abamec LV works through the systemic and contact action of Abamectin, which interferes with the nerve impulses of parasites, leading to paralysis and death. When applied to the skin along the backline, the low-volume formula translocates to target internal nematodes and external pests. It offers sustained activity, controlling infections of Small brown stomach worm acquired up to 14 days after treatment and Lungworm acquired up to 28 days after treatment.

Which parasites are controlled by Abamec LV?

Vetsense Abamec LV targets a broad spectrum of bovine parasites, including:

  • Gastro-intestinal roundworms: Barber’s pole worm, Small brown stomach worm (including inhibited stages), Small intestinal worm, Stomach hair worm, Hookworm, Nodule worm, Whipworm, Thin-necked intestinal worm, and Intestinal threadworm.
  • Lungworm: Large lungworm (Dictyocaulus viviparus).
  • Lice: Long-nosed sucking lice, Short-nosed sucking lice, Biting lice, and Little sucking lice.
  • Cattle Tick: Aids in the control of Boophilus microplus.

Why choose Abamec LV Pour-On for Cattle over other pour-on’s?

  • Low-Volume Formula: The double-strength concentration requires a smaller dose per animal.
  • Broad Spectrum: It kills major internal gastrointestinal roundworms and external lice.
  • Dairy Safe: The zero (0) day milk withholding period provides maximum management flexibility.
  • Sustained Activity: It manages Ostertagia spp. for 14 days and Dictyocaulus viviparus for 28 days post-treatment.
  • Easy Application: Apply the liquid quickly along the backline.
  • Versatile Sizing: Pack sizes range from 1L for small herds to 10L for large operations.
  • Dual Action: A single product solves both nematode and ectoparasite issues.
